Robert “Bob” Rosenfeld is the Founder and CEO of Idea Connection Systems, Inc. For over 40 years, he has been a leader and practitioner in the human dynamics that make innovation happen inside organizations.
He created the first Office of Innovation ever to be successfully
implemented in Corporate America in 1978 at Eastman Kodak. In 1981, Bob co-founded the Association for Managers of Innovation (AMI). After working with many diverse people and organizations, in 2001, he directed the development of Mosaic Partnerships— a process for breaking down barriers between cultures.
Because of Bob’s innovation experience, in May 2006, he was named the Center for Creative Leadership’s (CCL) first “Innovator in Residence” and in 2008, he was awarded Innovator in Residence Emeritus status.
Bob is the author of, Making the Invisible Visible: The Human Principles for Sustaining Innovation (2006). Bob’s second book, co-authored by Gary Wilhelmi and written by Andrew Harrison, is titled, The Invisible Element: A Practical Guide for the Human Dynamics of Innovation.
In 2008, Bob spearheaded an ICS team in the creation of the ISPITM (Innovation Strengths Preference Indicator®), a tool used to highlight peoples’ preferences for innovating as well as how they prefer to innovate with others.
Bob is the recipient of numerous awards for both innovation and race relations. To name a few, in 2008 and 2011 he was the recipient of the Excellence in Innovation Award at the Indira India Innovation Summit. He is an Innovator in Residence Emeritus at the Center for Creative Leadership in Greensboro, North Carolina. For his leadership in the area of race relations, he was awarded the Martin Luther King Jr. Community Peace Award for his work on Mosaic Partnerships in 2004. Last November, he received the 2019 Race Amity Medal of Honor. It is conferred on individuals “who have engaged in close cross racial/cross cultural collaboration to advance access, equity, and social justice in society.” Race Amity’s views echo the core mission of Mosaic Partnerships.
